Meet Miss Larroudé, Jessica Li.

Meet Miss Larroudé, Jessica Li.

The stylish mind behind Renew Finds has an eye for hidden treasures. The pieces she sources, collects, and frames all have her inventive singular aesthetic and the ability to stand out in a crowd—the way Larroudé women, and their shoes, always will.

Where are you based?

Our studio is based in Greenpoint at 67 West St Suite 214 (2nd Flr), Brooklyn, NY 11222

What do you do?

I used to be an Interior Designer doing corporate design, but now I am a full time curator for Renew Finds. We source unique and eclectic pieces that hold history to be part of our studio.

Favorite Larroude Shoe for Fall?

Currently obsessed with the Patricia Loafers in Mocca. They're super easy to style with outfits, but also comfortable for any other seasons.

What excites you about Fall?

Summer is too hot and muggy, I'm so ready for the cooler temperature, so that I can layer up and have more fun with my style.

Favorite restaurant/dish in the city you live in?

Taiwanese Gourmet in Elmhurst Queens is solid! I love getting together with friends and having a table full of food. That gives me so much joy.

IG Account you follow for Inspo:

Been loving the following accounts for sculptural and fun inspiration: @wagnerjk @yip.studio @chair.only @mullervanseveren

What inspires you?

My partner Leo. Seeing him work so hard while juggling his full time job in addition to Renew Finds, drives me to keep going with our passion business.

How did you get your start?

Purely accidental. What started out as a hobby turned into a career. After being laid off from my full time job, my fiance and I bought some chairs from an auction for $5, made an IG account, listed it there, and the rest was history. We invested all profits towards the next piece, and slowly built our collection to what it is today.

Piece of advice for your younger self / One thing you wish you knew when you were first starting out?

Having a passion business is a 24/7 job, and it only gets harder. However, if it's something you love, every minute is worth it.

What does a typical day at work look like?

Waking up at 7am to carpool with my fiance into FiDi, so that he can make it to his finance job by 8am. Then heading straight to the studio to start the day. From Monday - Wednesday, I'm typically either photographing new items, answering emails/DMs, sourcing at estate sales, picking up items that we have won at auctions, or refilling our print rack with new pieces. Thursday and Fridays are dedicated to framing, and we normally don't leave until 12am. Saturday and Sundays are when we're open for business from 12-5pm.

What are some of the biggest challenges that you face in your line of work? How do you navigate them?

One of our biggest challenges is taking a step back to spend more time with our friends and family. We often get so caught up with growing the business, that we miss out on important moments on a daily basis.

What is one of your biggest successes so far?

Cultivating a community that believes and loves us. We're thrilled to bring creatives and individuals together, seeing people on the street wearing our merch and being excited when they enter our humble studio.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

We would love to grow our little family within the next 5 years, but also find a balance with the business so that we can do both comfortably.
